Of the seven world continents, North America is the third largest. The land mass, which, as the name suggests, takes up a good part of the northern hemisphere and is bounded by the Arctic Ocean to its north, the Atlantic Ocean on the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea on the southeast.
The land mass, which is comprised of 23 countries, is also home to a good number of territories and possessions as well. Central America, Mexico, the U.S., Canada, and the world’s biggest island, Greenland, all make up the continent.
Given the variety of countries in North America, you’ll have plenty to see and do if you choose to travel in this part of the world. The topography is made up of mountains, dessert, and cold and tropical climates, thereby making North America a top travel destination worldwide.
