Naturally, when you think of Los Angeles, you associate the city with Hollywood. Therefore, you can find plenty in the way to exciting activities when you visit the City of Angels.

1. Taking a Tour of the Dolby Theater in Hollywood
The Dolby Theater is the home of the celebrated Academy Awards show each year. Located on Hollywood Boulevard, you can go on a tour of the grand theater, beginning at its Level 2 entrance. Guided tours, which run every 30 minutes, are conducted from mid-morning to late afternoon, Monday through Friday, and from early morning to late morning on the weekends.
2. Visiting Madame Tussauds Hollywood Wax Museum
The best way to enjoy the Hollywood experience and mingle with the stars is by visiting Madame Tussauds Hollywood Wax Museum. Situated next to the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, the museum features over 100 wax-like images of your favorite celebrities. Be sure to bring your camera to get some memorable, souvenir photos.
3. Strolling Along the Hollywood Walk of Fame
While you are in the area, you’ll also want to survey the over 2,400 stars that line the streets of Hollywood and Vine on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Honorees include musicians, directors, producers, actors, and fictional characters, some of which include Donald Duck, Katharine Hepburn, Bela Lagosi, and the singing group, The Supremes.
4. Spending the Day at Universal Studios
You’ll also want to see the famous Universal Studios while in LA. The movie studio and theme park, which is located in Universal City in Los Angeles, features all-inclusive attractions, including a working movie studio, park rides, and restaurants and shops. Take a studio tour or brave a ride on Revenge of the Mummy, a scary indoor roller coaster at the facility.
5. A Visit to Disneyland
Besides seeing the sites in Hollywood, you’ll no doubt want to visit Disneyland in nearby Anaheim too. The world renowned amusement park is home to such popular attractions as Main Street, USA, which is located at the park’s entrance, Fantasyland, just past Sleeping Beauty Castle, and Tomorrowland. The park, which opened its doors in 1955, is one attraction that is a must-see for families on vacation.
6. Visiting the Menagerie of Animals at the Los Angeles Zoo
While in LA, you’ll also want to visit the animals on exhibit at the 113-acre Los Angeles Zoo. Animals on display include such species as the chimpanzee, African wild dog, the koala, zebra, and gorilla.
