I was looking up some information about Costa Rica and was surprised to see justhow much of their tourism is nature-related.
Most of the main attractions are nature related, a combination of ecotourism with leisure and adventure activities: sun, sea and sand (55%); flora and wildlife watching (44%); visiting volcanoes (43%); trekking (41%); bird watching (30%); canopy tours (26%);bungee jumping from bridges (11%); surfing (11%); snorkeling (10%); andrafting (7%). Cultural activities such as visiting museums, art galleries and theaters corresponds to 11%, andbusiness travel corresponds to 17%.
I knew there was a lot of wildlife and nature there, but I had no idea that so many of those others were popular. I never would’ve thought to go bungee-jumping there, for example. And bird watching? Are the birds just out in the open that much?
What are canopy tours?
I’m surprised that snorkeling doesn’t rank higher on that list. Isn’t it mostly beaches there? I know that’s what I would want to do if I were down there. I’d spend all day in the water if I could.
I was able to find good advice from your blog articles.
