A Country Blessed with Nature’s Bounty

Chile is a country in western South America and is blessed with an extremely varied landscape. Gushing rivers, icy peaked volcanoes, hilly mountains, fjords and white sand beaches along with lush forests, lakes and glaciers all make up the wild and wonderful beauty that Chile possesses.
Bordering Chile are the countries of Bolivia and Peru, which lie to its north and Argentina, which lies to its east. It shares the southern island of Tierra del Fuego with Argentina, which is an access point to Antarctica.

The beauty of the Lake District, the savage wilderness of the fjords and national parks of Patagonia, the stylish elegance of Santiago, the capital of Chile all contribute to the charm of this country which is also renowned for its excellent wines, seafood and inimitable handicrafts.

Santiago is located in the shadow of the majestic Andes range and is characterized by an architecture which is a blend of modern skyscrapers and quaint Spanish homes from the 19th century. Although Santiago is one of the most polluted cities in the world, it throbs with life and has attractions such as small museums, superlative restaurants and modern hotels.

Patagonia is a region at the southern end of South America shared by Chile and Argentina, and it’s a heaven for adventure seekers and nature lovers who enjoy its glacier filled parks such as the Parque Nacional Laguna San Rafael. Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve covering 442 hectares, also located in the south is another jewel in Chile’s crown with its vast wilderness which encompasses hiking trails, scenic lakes ,gushing waterfalls, glaciers, icy mountains and flower filled fields.

The beautiful country of Chile has received more than its fair share of nature’s bounty.
